In addition to orchestral settings, VYMA also offers a Chamber Music program especially designed to challenge young musicians playing beginning, intermediate and advanced repertoire. Many VYMA students choose to expand their musical horizons by participating in both Orchestra and Chamber Music programs. With the guidance of professional coaches, students work together in trios and quartets, playing with the same group over an entire semester to develop the unique skills and musical sensibilities necessary to performing in small ensembles without a conductor.

VYMA chamber groups have the opportunity to perform in many venues, and have won recognition from the Music Teachers’ Association of California (MTAC) Voce Competition and at the Southwest Youth Music Festival (SYMF).

The Dolce Piano Trio, Vanessa Brandon piano, Luke Santonastaso violin, and Ryan Noring cello, competed on Feb 24th at the Brand Library for the VOCE Glendale branch and won first place! Now they will move on to compete for the state level.
Last year they were the second place winners for the State of California.
